Correspondence, diaries, account books, deeds, newspaper clippings, and other papers reflecting Mewett's interest in the local history and early settlements of the area around Gates Mills, Ohio, in the Western Reserve. The bulk of the collection consists of notes and articles written by Mewett on many historical subjects, including genealogical notes and accounts of interviews with and recollections of old settlers.
