Prostagma [microform], [1344 or 1314].

The Byzantine Emperor (either John V Palaeologus or Andronicus II Palaeologus--the date is unclear) issues a prostagma wherein he resolves the dispute between the Protos of Mt. Athos and the Hilandar kellion of St. Sava in Karyes over the rights to the use of water from a brook running over their territory in Karyes. The dispute dates back to the Protos' complaint that the monks of St. Sava's have been polluting the stream whereupon the Patriarch resolved that the stream should be covered and fenced off for protection. However, in this document the Emperor approves the rights of the monks of Hilandar to use water from that brook for an indefinite time, in accordance with their petition. With statement of month and indiction but without the Emperor's signature.
