Mary Louise Dinwiddie correspondence with Morgan P. Robinson [manuscript], 1900-1928.

Correspondence of Dinwiddie concerns the bell on the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. A letter, 1928 Oct. 17, asks Robinson for information regarding the various clappers and strikers saved from the 1895 Rotunda fire at the University of Virginia. Morgan replies, 1928 Nov.7, describing the history of the University bell and clappers and stating he is glad to help resolve the questions "because with the several clappers you now have in hand, one might conclude that Jefferson placed on the Rotunda a carillon." Robinson's reply was forwarded to Dinwiddie by H.R. McIlwaine, 1928 Nov.8, who also forwarded under separate cover negative photostats of a letter from Paul Barringer to Robinson, 1900, Oct. 9, regarding the bell and a letter of Robinson to the Director of the Brooks Museum, 1921 Mar. 12..
