This collection consists of photographs taken by Harry V. Mitchell in 1912 in and around Savannah, Georgia. The photographs were part of a scrapbook and are still mounted on the original scrapbook paper. The subjects of the photos include the Hermitage Plantation, various Savannah scenes, Bonaventure Cemetery, fishing on the Wilmington River, an oyster roast, and some unidentified local scenes.

Harry B. Mitchell was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) from Great Falls, Montana. In the fall of 1962, he became the co-chairman of the Legislative Committee for the Montana State Jaycees. He spent the next 2 years promoting the protection of the natural waterways of Montana, especially fishing habitat, from damage by road construction and hydraulic activities.
