Letter, 1716 May 25, Ripon Hall [York County], Va., to [William Blathwayt], n.p.

Jenings describes changes in the appearance of Williamsburg since he last visited. The town is "much inlarged [sic] and [has] a prospect for being a useful Town ... The inhabitants living more decent after the English manner & in the Country plentifull [sic] & in Peace." Jenings refers to the dispute between Auditor General [Phillip Ludwell] and Governor [Alexander Spotswood] and offers himself as a replacement for Ludwell should Blathwayt desire him.
