R. S. Stevens letter : Attica, to Guy H. Salisbury, Buffalo, 1862 Dec. 15.

Letter written to Salisbury, corresponding secretary of the Buffalo Historical Society, relating the story, told him by Amzi Wright, of the first town meeting held on the Holland Purchase on the first Tuesday of March 1803 at Vanderventer's house, 18 miles west of Batavia. There were a total of 144 voters present, out of a total of 153 on the Purchase. Peter Vanderventer was elected supervisor of the town of Batavia.
