6 Russian seascapes / James L. Prez. 1990.

An "artwork/bookwork" consisting of a metal box, housed in a cardboard sleeve, and the box's contents. "Soviet" is embossed onto the box's lid, and "6 Russian seascapes, 1/1, James L. Prez, 1991" is handwritten in white on the bottom of the box. Also attached to the box's bottom is a small photograph of a person wearing a Ronald Reagan mask. The box contains the following items, in order: 1 bookmark cut out in the shape of, and illustrated with a color drawing of, Mikael Gorbachev. 6 pieces of cardboard, each with a photocopy of a Russian postal stamp against a blue background attached to the front. Each image has a handwritten caption consisting of the name of a country and a date (from top to bottom: Afghanistan, 1979; Czecholsovakia (sic), 1968; Lithuania, 1991; Latvia, 1991; Estonia, 1991; Hungary, 1966). Attached to the back of each card is a portion of a newspaper story (a transcription of a speech given by Gorbachev?), across which is handwritten the same country and date that is written on the front. 1 folded newspaper paper story, titled "Gorbachev's Five Years: Era of Tumult and Change," dated Nov. 18, 1990. The lid and inside bottom of the metal box are also lined with a newspaper clippings about Gorbachev. A cardboard sleeve bearing an image of the word "Soviet" and a red star, signed "James Prez, 1991," fits around the box. Handwritten on the sleeve is "6 Russian seascapes."
