Ralph Dreger was born in Chicago on April 13, 1913 and began his professional life as a Methodist minister, graduating with a seminary degree from Wheaton College in Illinois. Dreger then moved to Fresno, California where he began a long career of activism by speaking out against the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.
