Psalter with interpretations. Known as the Sofia Psalter and as the Songbook of Ivan Alexander. Very close to the oldest Slavic translation of the Psalter as found in the Sinai Psalter. Includes explanation of the psalms; psalms; lengthy panegyric to Ivan Alexander; biblical canticles. Polychromatic heading and initials in the neo-Byzantine style with interweaving motifs. Inscription on leaf 158a indicates this manuscript was copied for the Tsar. Colophon on leaf 310b thanking Tsar Ivan Alexander for whose glory the manuscript was copied. Note on leaf 312b (in another hand) mentions the death of Serbian despot Georgi Branković.
