Handwritten copy of the will of Capt. John Mason, founder of New Hampshire. Original will written on 26 November 1635. He appoints his brother -in-law, John Wollaston, Executor. He leaves his estate to his wife, Anne. After her death, the estate goes to his grandchildren, John, Anna, Robert, and Mary Tufton, children of his daughter Anne and Joseph Tufton, who are all minors at the time of his death. Capt. Mason, also, stipulates that his grandsons must take his surname when they inherit his estate. Will examined and signed by Richard Partridge, August ,1700, and Thomas Pelham[?], Deputy Registrar.
