Consists of a carbon typescript with holographic stage directions, 73 pp, of Mac Liammóir's play THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING OSCAR about the author Oscar Wilde, as well as a mimeographed version cut and revised including the theaters, cities and dates when it was performed. This copy states that it was directed by Hilton Edwards, and that it is the property of Edwards-Mac Liammóir Dublin Gate Theatre Productions Ltd. It contains Part I which includes "The Happy Prince" and "The Green Carnation" and Part II "De Profundis". The Importance of Being Oscar is a one-man evening actor-playwright Micheal Mac Liammóir's account of the rise and fall, the life and letters, of Oscar Wilde. In the first half, Mac Liammoir offers a glamorous world and triumphs of playwriting. In the second half, which begins with Wilde's imprisonment, Mac Liammóir portrays the reviled man, the repentant sinner, the reproaches in "De Profundis" to his fellow sinner Lord Alfred Douglas.
