Consists of 74 volumes of diaries, letters, reports, reminiscences, and other writings in typescript form, accompanied by clippings, photographs, designs, and memorabilia, which Remey prepared in a limited number of sets. Remey also prepared many volumes of reminiscences--of his childhood, boyhood at the Navy Yard, Washington, D. C., and school at Green Acres, Maine, and of his uncles William Butler Remey and Edward Wallace Remey, father George Collier Remey (1841-1928), and Gertrude Heim Remey. Also included are biographies of Charles Mason (1804-1882), who was chief justice of Iowa, George Collier Remey, and Mary Josephine Remey; histories of the houses in which Remey family members lived; a record of the naval destroyer U.S.S. REMEY, named after George Collier Remey; and a description of a new mausoleum in Virginia for the Remey family designed by Remey.
