Photographs of the family of Peter and Thomas Kerr of Portland, Or., circa 1890-1920. Peter Kerr (1862-1957) and his brother, Thomas, ran the grain exporting business Kerr-Gifford & Co., and their two families lived in the Riverwood area of southwest Portland. The collection mostly contains portraits of various members of the Kerr family, including Thomas, his wife Mabel Macleay Kerr, and their sons; Peter, his wife, Laurie King Kerr, and their children, Jane Kerr Platt and Anne Kerr McDonald; and Thomas and Peter's father, Thomas Kerr (1829-1918), among may others. There are also photographs of Peter Kerr's residence, "Cliff Cottage," on Elk Rock and Thomas's home, "High Hatch," on Military Lane in southwest Portland; the Kerr family engaged in sporting activities and on travels to Mount Rainier, the Oregon coast, and Cloud Cap Inn on Mount Hood, among other places; and various views of Portland, Oregon City, and Centralia, Wash., among other places.
