The collection consists of six items: note from Lalla (Louise Powell) to Dorothy, 7 June 1956, announcing the publication of Scrip's & Scraps, by W.R. Lethaby, compiled by Alfred H. Powell; picture post card to Dorothy from Alfred, probably the Powell's son, describing his activities in Paris, 21 July 1965; notes, titled, Professor Lethaby's Reply to the Address on his 65 Birthday, undated, with typescript copy, probably compiled by Alfred, the notes praise Ruskin and discuss culture; also, photocopies of three clippings connected with Lethaby, including a 22 Jan. 1948 article by J. Brandon Jones for The Listener with the title, The Architect who Turned Teacher, a short article on Melstetter House, built by Lethaby, and a short article on his 65th birthday, summarized in the notes above.

Dorothy Wackerman Hutton was an artist and calligrapher. Born in Cleveland, she attended the University of Minnesota, and graduated from the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts before studying in Paris. She married artist Hugh M. Hutton, and settled in the Philadelphia area. She was a member of many artistic organizations, including the Plastic Club.
