Hughes lists new writers Frank M. Davis, Richard Wright, George W. Henderson, Chester Himes and Sterling Brown and gives titles for each. Under "Negro culture" he lists composer William Grant Still and plays about Negroes including O'Neil's "Emperor Jones" and "All God's chillun" as well as Heyward's "Porgy" and his own "Mulatto."
