The collection consists of the papers of Leroy Earl Loemker from 1926-1985, the bulk of which pertain to Loemker's career as philosophy teacher and researcher at Emory University (Atlanta, Ga.) from 1929-1971. The papers include course outlines and notes, including a notebook "Seventeenth Century book-notes"; Loemker's dissertation (1931) and his scholarly works including papers on Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz and a carbon draft of "Struggle for Synthesis"; miscellaneous printed materials, mainly regarding Liebniz; general correspondence and personal items (1938-1976); and a large number of his published and unpublished papers and notes devoted to intellectual history and American personalism.
