Graham Greene collection, 1962-1968.

The collection consists of 25 letters (21 by Graham Greene, 4 by secretaries to him) written between 1962 and 1968 regarding his collecting Victorian detective fiction. Most of the letters are addressed to Anthony Hobson who was with Sotheby's and was directly involved in purchasing titles on Greene's behalf. One letter to John Carter relates to the catalog of Greene's collection that was published in 1966 under the title VICTORIAN DETECTIVE FICTION: A CATALOGUE OF THE COLLECTION MADE BY DOROTHY GLOVER AND GRAHAM GREENE.
