Papers of Marlene Gerber Fried largely consisting of her personal files on the Reproductive Rights National Network. Fried served on the steering committee during the organization's lifespan from 1979 to 1985. The records include memos, agendas, meeting minutes, reports, videotaped rescues and demonstrations, print and near print materials, flyers, budgets, discussion questions, position papers, resolutions, programs and other conference materials, and correspondence (especially with the Committee for Abortion Rights and Against Sterilization Abuse). There is also information on the group's opposition to the Hyde Amendment and information on pro-life groups. The collection includes a slide show (with script) titled "Never Again: the Struggle for Reproductive Rights," produced by the New American Movement and videotapes titled "Silent No More: Women Speak Out About Their Abortion Experiences" and "Spring of Lies." Ephemera on reproductive rights, the women's movement, and labor issues is also part of the papers.

The Reproductive Rights National Network formed in 1978 in response to the nationwide abortion debate launched by Roe v. Wade. It eventually included about 50 feminist organizations and devoted itself to making reproductive choices available for all women. R2N2 campaigned for safe abortions; for the right of gay couples to adopt and raise children; and against the sterilization of poor or "unfit" mothers. It disbanded in 1984.
