16mm film/sound interviews about Aldo Leopold with J. Baird Callicott, Nina Leopold Bradley, Luna Leopold, Carl Leopold, Estella Leopold, and a group interview filmed at The Shack with Fran and Frederick Hammerstrom, Max Oelschlager, and Curt Meine done in conjunction with the filming of the television documentary "Wild By Law." In addition to the films, there are partial transcripts for the interviews with Bradley, the Hammerstroms, Meine, and Carl Leopold. Also included in the collection is a VHS copy of the completed film.

Leopold was born in Burlington, Iowa and received a Master of Forestry degree from Yale University. In 1909 he joined the U.S. Forest Service and from 1914-1924 he supervised national forests in Arizona and New Mexico. He established the first wilderness area in the Gila National Forest, New Mexico and was a founder of The Wilderness Society. In 1933, he accepted the chair of Game Management at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he taught until his death on April 21, 1948....
