Letters of appreciation to Dr. Amy Louise Hunter on the occasion of her retirement from a long career in public health. From 1935 to 1961, Hunter was the pioneering director of the Wisconsin Board of Health's Bureau of Maternal and Child Health. Also included is a folder of miscellaneous correspondence, clippings, a photograph of Dr. Hunter, material from her memorial service, condolence letters written to her husband, Frederick Wilson, and a biographical essay emphasizing her education and career in pediatrics and public health.

In 1919, the State Board of Health created the Bureau of Child Welfare and Public Health Nursing.
