Papers of Carl Warmington, executive secretary of the Madison Community Union and the Madison War Chest (ca. 1940-1947), concerning combined charitable and war-related fund-raising in Madison and especially the achievement of a 312% increase in giving in 1942. Included is an essay that reflects on the key years of the 1940s, a 1943 newsletter of War Chest campaigns, a publication describing the twenty years of the Madison Community Union, campaign memoranda, an organization chart, the 1945 annual report, and 30 photos of the Madison Community Union's 20th anniversary meeting in 1942.
