Papers of McLanahan, a public relations and education director in the cooperative movement, consisting of correspondence, minutes of meetings, reports, newsletters, news clippings, programs, planning documents, and financial materials. The papers primarily document McLanahan's activities as education director of the Cooperative League of the U.S.A. (1942-1947), at which time he was also a director of the Rochdale Institute, and a key figure in the Council for Cooperative Development.

Asa Philip Randolph (born April 15, 1889, Cresent City, Florida-died May 16, 1979, New York City), African-American labor leader and early civil rights spokesman.
