Papers, 1804-1968.

Papers of Doane, an Episcopal priest, director of the University of Wisconsin Libraries, University archivist, and genealogist, primarily documenting his unpublished biography of Jackson Kemper, the first Episcopal bishop of Wisconsin. Included are original sermons by Kemper; calendars, a card index, and other access tools to the Kemper Papers at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin; and research notes and correspondence with members of the Kemper family and others such as Leslie H. Fishel and Clifford Lord of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The photographs in PH 2681 depict students, buildings, and activities at Grafton Hall, an Episcopal school for girls in Fond du Lac, Wis., ca. 1922. The photographs in PH 2962 include images of Nashotah House Seminary, Nashotah Mission, and Episcopal bishops of Milwaukee.
