Photographs made by James Watson, a former staff member of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, in August 1980. All views are of Madison, Wisconsin, with locations corresponding to historic prints (photocopies included) from the historical society's collections. Photographs were taken for a Then & Now museum exhibit on Madison. Most of the images are of downtown Madison, including views of the skyline, state government buildings, and street scenes of Sherman Avenue, East Main Street, Bassett Street, and Johnson Street, among others.
