Papers related to Levi Minckler's service in the Civil War with Company F, 18th Wisconsin Infantry, known as the Oshkosh Rangers. Minckler's journal, in a volume which also contains later farm ledger entries by his son Allen, runs from March 30 to May 29, 1862 and outlines Levi Minckler's experiences during the Battle of Shiloh and his subsequent capture and imprisonment in a Confederate prison.
