Members of the Thompson family were prominent in the local affairs of Halifax, Massachusetts. Josiah Thompson served in the Revolutionary Army and then as Justice of the Peace and town clerk. Josiah's nephew Jabez P. Thompson I served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, as did his son, Ephraim B. Thompson, and his son, Jabez P. Thompson II. These four men in particular were locally eminent figures, serving on town boards and committees and as justices of the peace. From th...
