Oregon Governors collection, 1869-1987.

This is an artificial collection created by the Oregon Historical Society. This collection includes miscellaneous materials related to six Oregon governors: Neil Goldschmidt (1987-1991), Theodore. T. Geer (1899-1903), Isaac L. Patterson (1927-1929), Sylvester Pennoyer (1887-1895), William W. Thayer (1878-1882), and George L. Woods (1866-1870). Goldschmidt's materials include a 1987 letter regarding Public Employee Unions; Geer's materials include a 1900 letter from Abigail Scott Duniway on behalf of the Oregon State Equal Suffrage Association; Patterson's materials include an invitation to a governor's conference, July 23-30, 1927, Mackinac Island, Michigan; Pennoyer's materials include a reply to criticisms of his Christmas letter, (no date); Thayer's materials include two letters: one 1878 letter to James Hendershott regarding requisition of civilian guns, and one 1878 letter to General Howard regarding Umatilla County troops; and Woods' materials include an 1869 letter to Schuyler Colfax regarding Woods' request to become U.S. Minister to China.
