This is a collection of two manuscripts about Henry Morris' recollections. Henry Morris recalls going to school at Yacolt, WA and some of the situations that occurred at that time. Henry recalls July 30, 1918 when the Canada Maru, a Japanese passenger ship, was stuck in the sand. Henry recalls how he and his friend helped the passengers and baggage to safety. The collection includes 4 photographs: 1 of the children in front of the school at Yacolt, WA; 2 of the Canada Maru and 1 of a map where the Canada Maru was located.

Henry Morris attended school in Yacolt, WA. He and his family had moved from Vancouver, WA to Yacolt, WA. He recalls some of his childhood memories during this time. On July 30, 1981 Henry and his friend were fishing in Neah Bay. The ship Canada Maru was stuck in the sand. The ship was a passenger as well as a freight ship. There were about 250 passengers. Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
