Manuscript of Mrs. J. J. Bartholet, circa 1954.

This is a manuscript of Suzanne Erwin Bartholet, the daughter of 19th century Indian Agent at Fort Simcoe, Washington. She lived as a small girl with the Native Americans when that military installation was the site of the Yakama Indian Agency from 1893-1897. This is Mrs. Bartholet's recollection of Chief White Swan telling her and the Native American children that were at the Agency the history of the Agency and the lands surrounding it.
