Gust Anderson (1888-1958) was a noted Portland labor leader and legislator. Born in Sweden, he moved to Minnesota with his family at age 15. He and his wife, Ida Berg, moved to Portland in 1910. Anderson organized a labor union of streetcar men in 1917 and later served 35 years as Secretary-Treasurer of the Portland Central Labor Council (affiliated with the A.F.L.), 1923-1958.
