Translation from Greek of the Pearls, a selection of pious pieces by St. John Chrysostom (leaves 1-47) and others for the Lenten and Pentecostal cycles, according to the cycles of both triodions. 185 homilies in all. Included also are: "History of the icons" (leaf 109a); "History of the miracle of the Theotokos or the Defense of Constantinople" (leaf 136a); "History of the discovery of the head of John the Baptist" (leaf 370b); "On evil women" (leaf 372a). Marginal glosses on all the texts. Inscriptions on leaf 371b and 372b about the location of the manuscript and its purchase. Priest Nikanor's inscription from 1685 on leaf 372b (cf. Ms. Hil. 160). Without ornamentation.
