Anna Bolena [collection] : tragedia lirica / di F. Romani ; musica da Donizetti. 1839-1844.

Arranged in four groups: I. Vocal scores (1). II. Orchestra parts (30). III. Promptbooks (2). IV. Dialogue parts (21). The vocal score, published in Paris by Marquerie FreĢ€res (1839), is in Italian and bears the signature of E. Seguin. The orchestra parts are holograph. The harp part is incomplete. The promptbooks are in English and contain numerous stage directions and diagrams for stage layouts. Copy one bears the stamp and signature of Edward Seguin. The cover and preliminary pages carry a playbill cut out and pasted in from the Chesnut St. Theatre and lists actors and musicians involved in the production. The title page, handwritten, reads "produced for the first time in the English language, Philadelphia, April 15th, 1844." Copy two is marked "property of Mrs. Seguin" and contains stage directions and set diagrams. It is made up of the printed libretto pasted in between the handwritten text. The dialogue parts are in English.
