Robert Hardin Reid papers, 1845-1906

Student diary and lecture notes, 1845-1846, recorded during Reid's enrollment at South Carolina College (later University of South Carolina) in Columbia, S.C. Scrapbook, 1857, "of the Reidville High Schools"; roll book, 1901, Reidville High School containing monthly reports of students and catalogues, 1883-1902; and a burial certificate, 1906, of Mary Julia Anderson Reid (1831-1906); and clippings relating to the Anderson family. The collection also includes a few items belonging to Reid's son, J. Whitner Reid, including essays and notes on fine art and education, and a letter 1906, to Theodore Roosevelt re "the Negro problem in the South."
