When love is young [collection] : a comedy with music in two acts / book and lyrics by Rida Johnson Young and William Cary Duncan ; music by William Schroeder. [1900-1945?]

A collection of promptbooks, one arranged as a stage manager's guide, for Schroeder's musical comedy "When love is young," and the original play on which it is based (Rida Johnson Young's "The boys of company B"), as well as the intervening comedy with music "Soldier boys, " by Duncan and Young. All materials are typescript or typescript mimeos. The promptbook for "The boys of company B" is bound in three volumes; volume 1 is lacking. Two promptbooks are for "Soldier boys" and the remaining materials correspond to "When love is young." The stage manager's guide consists of a typescript promptbook interleaved with pages of manuscript stage directions. The preliminaries bear the notice "This play may be staged as of '1942'" and "Play permits up to date popular interpolations. Care should be used not to interfere with story."
