Billee Taylor [collection] : a nautical comic opera in two acts / by Henry P. Stephens and Edward Solomon. [between 1880 and 1899]

Arranged in four groups: I. Vocal scores (69). II. Orchestra parts (19). III. Promptbooks (20). IV. Dialogue parts (105). There are four editions of vocal score, including imprints by S.T. Gordon (New York, 188-?), Joseph Williams (London, 188-?), O. Ditson (Boston, 1881), and W.A. Pond (New York, 188-?). Orchestra parts are manuscript. Eight of the promptbooks are stage manager guides consisting of the Ditson vocal score interleaved with manuscript annotations. The other promptbooks are either manuscript or typescript. Most of the dialogue parts are typed, although sixteen are manuscript. All materials are in English. The opera, which was first performed in 1880, is alternately titled "The reward of virtue."
