Our Miss Gibbs [collection] : a musical play in two acts / by "Cryptos" ; constructed by James Tanner ; lyrics by Adrian Ross and Percy Greenbank ; music by Ivan Caryll and Lionel Monckton. 1906-1909.

Arranged in four groups: I. Scores (1). II. Vocal scores (16). IV. Vocal scores-Selections (3). IV. Orchestra parts (150). V. Lyrics (3). The full score is a manuscript, unbound and incomplete. Fifteen of the vocal scores are published by Chappell (London, 1909) and represent the production as a whole. One of these, however, includes two additional numbers. There is also a manuscript vocal score, unbound and incomplete. The three vocal selections are for individual numbers, including "Dougal" by Gerald Grafton, "Yip-i-addy-i-ay" by John H. Flynn (lyrics by Will D. Cobb and George Grossmith), and "Come tiny goldfish to me" by Harry Marlow (lyrics, by Jerome D. Kern, are absent). Orchestra parts are manuscript. There are also typewritten lyrics to three songs.

James Taylor Tanner, was born in Homer, New York, on 6 March 1914. He attended Cornell University and did graduate study under Arthur A. Allen. His master's thesis was on "Sound Recording for a Natural History Museum." His Ph.D. dissertation was "Life History and Ecology of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker," based on 21 months of field studies in the great Singer tract in northeastern Louisiana, the last refuge for this nearly extinct species. Tanner died in Knoxville, Tennessee, on 21 January 1991. ...
