Collection of early New England documents and letters written and signed by famous individuals. Many early documents are related to John Robinson of Duxbury, Massachusetts including his will and burial record, and his estate settlement carried out by sons John and Ichabod of Lebanon, Connecticut . Also the appointment and bond of Isaiah Tiffany of Norwich, Connecticut. Other signatories include Israel Putnam, Cotton Mather, Baron deKalb, William Ledyard, Alexander Hamilton, Henry Dearborn, William Eustis, Jefferson Davis and O.H. Perry.

Patrick Henry Woodward (1833-1917) was born in Franklin, Connecticut, to Ashbel and Emeline (Bicknell) Woodward.
