Rube Waddell was among the most eccentric and colorful players. His career as a pitcher spanned from 1897 to 1910. Waddell possessed a great fastball and curveball. He won the Triple Crown in 1905 and led the American League six years in a row in strikeouts. In 1889, Waddell attended Volant College in Lawrence County Pennsylvania, and played on the school's baseball team. This collection contains the 1889 Volant College scorebook, a sepia photo of Waddell taken in Ohio, typewritten notes on Waddell dated 1947, an undated paper written about Waddell's career, his obituary and two articles dated 1986 and 1998.
