The Connecticut Training School for Nurses was established in 1873 as an independent school charged with training nurses to provide service to the community. The school quickly developed a relationship with the New Haven Hospital. With financial assistance from the Rockefeller Foundation, the Yale School of Nursing superseded the Connecticut Training School for Nurses in 1926.
