Writing on Faber and Faber Ltd Publishers stationery, Eliot responds, " ... the poem you asked about is by Mr. Robinson Jeffers. I do not know all of his poetry and I have sometimes thought that he had written rather too much, but I have a great respect for his work ..." Eliot tells of making a record of Murder in the Cathedral.
