In Mediations, Hill explores the correlation between audio and visual perception. The piece begins with a close-up of a loudspeaker. As a hand enters the frame and slowly pours sand on the speaker, an amplified voice describes the action. The sound from the speaker blows sand into the air. With this simple operation, Hill makes the audible visible and the visible audible.
