John William Swanberg ("Jack") was born on October 12, 1939, in Norwalk, Connecticut. In 1961, after grauation from Trinity College, he was hired by the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad as a Locomotive Fireman. Mr. Swanberg left the railroad for service in the United States Navy, then returned to work for the railroad in various positions until retirement in 2000.
