Five letters (20 Nov. 1860-19 May 1861) written by Christopher Morgan, to his brother, Edwin Barber Morgan, describing the tumultuous beginnings of the Civil War as seen from the eyes of a Northern man caught in the South, his travels (including descriptions of their stay in Savannah, Ga., and Cincinnati, Ohio), and inner thoughts as he attempts to return home to New York with his wife; together with two obituary clippings (1877), and a small portrait photograph of Christopher Morgan.
