Correspondence, legal documents, photographs, corporate records, and other materials relating to Ambrose's western Nevada ranching activities and personal finances; his involvement with the Mexican Dam and Ditch Company (incorporated 1909 and operated on the Carson River); various water rights and land claims in Ormsby County, Nev., originally made in the 1860s by Charles's father, Nicholas Ambrose (Nicholas Ambrosia; "Dutch Nick"); and "Pioneer Days of the West," a traveling western show which grew out of an entertainment Charles and his family staged in Carson City, Nev., on 24 Sept. 1921, and which he later made a motion picture of. Correspondents include James Newlands,Jr., William E. Sharon, and Howard W. Swab.
