Arranged in three groups: I. Vocal scores (62). II. Promptbooks (17 in 19 vols.) III. Dialogue parts (67). A collection of English language vocal scores, promptbooks, and dialogue parts for Bucalossi's comic opera variously titled "Manteaux noir," "The black mantles, " and "The black cloaks." The vocal scores include two published by J.B. Cramer (London) and the rest published by White-Smith (Boston, 1886). Six of these are stage manager's guides. Each of the seven sets of dialogue parts, all handwritten and annotated, is incomplete. The promptbooks, with the exception of five that are typescript, are also manuscript copies.
