Tainter Family Papers, 1847-1946.

This collection contains genealogical information relating to the Tainter family. The Papers series contains some correspondence, the marriage certificate of Ebes Brown and Lovina Tainter (1847) and newspaper clippings. The Photographs series contains photographs of Tainter family members. The Memorabilia series contains a book, a box containing a lock of hair and recipes or home remedies, and six photo albums of school children from the 1940's.

William E. Osgood was born in N.H. in 1926. He had completed four years of high school and was working as a professional driver when he was inducted into the Army in 1944 at Ft. Devens, Mass. Osgood volunteered for the ski troops through the National Ski Patrol System. He was stationed at Camp Swift, Tex. and in Italy where he was assigned to the 87th Infantry Regiment, Company C.
