Wilhelm Heinrich Hoffmann (1860-ca. 1924) was born in Nentershausen, Germany. He emigrated to the United States and lived in Pennsylvania when he became a naturalized American citizen in 1885. He eventually settled in Savannah, Georgia, where he had a photography business. It subsequently became Dixie Engraving Company. Hoffman's name became Anglicized as William Henry.
