The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence to and from individuals who served the University as Treasurer and the subject files they created while in office, including grants and contracts but also ledgers and account books. Subjects include members of the Duke family, Kittrell College, the Duke Endowment, Highland Hospital, Duke departments and offices, Duke Homestead, Duke Construction Company, funds and scholarships, endowments, alumni, and the Board of Trustees. The bulk of the collection is off-site, but there are some oversize materials located on-site.
