ALS, 1870 January 25 : New York, to unknown correspondent.

Written on printed copy of the Constitution of the National Woman'sSuffrage Association and Plan of Organization, Anthony encourages the recipient to: "organize a woman suffrage society--hold meetings--discuss woman suffrage--send for tracts to distribute--get up a large club of subscribers for 'The Revolution'". Also a printed appeal by Association President Elizabeth Cady Stanton asking for a donation of $1.00 to assist the cause from "every man and woman throughout the country, who really desires Woman's Suffrage ..." The organization had been organized in 1869.

Susan B. Anthony (born Susan Anthony; February 15, 1820 – March 13, 1906) was an American social reformer and women's rights activist who played a pivotal role in the women's suffrage movement. Born into a Quaker family committed to social equality, she collected anti-slavery petitions at the age of 17. In 1856, she became the New York state agent for the American Anti-Slavery Society.
