Eamonn O'Toole papers, 1888-1956, bulk 1930-1950.

The O'Toole papers are an "artificial" collection formed from documents found in books from Professor O'Toole's personal library which were purchased in 1956 by the College of St. Thomas for inclusion in the College library. Roughly one-half of O'Toole's library was purchased by the College. Most of the papers in the collection are letters and scholarly papers O'Toole received from colleagues. One can find the autographs of many individuals prominent in Celtic studies in the collection, including that of Douglas Hyde, the first President of the Irish Free State.
